Patented Flame Simulation by The CopperSmith

     We offer several options to achieve the look and ambiance of a gas flame in an electric lantern.  The original Patented Weiyan Flame Simulation option designed and introduced by The CopperSmith in 2016 for their copper lanterns is still available as an option in all lanterns by The Coppersmith.   The 110v Weiyan system consists of hammered glass to properly refract the LED diodes to create realistic flame simulation with the Weiyan LED Bulb.   

     Lanterns are also available with custom Low Voltage-12 volt sockets and bulbs for areas where 12v wiring is more desirable.  We do not supply the transformer for this application. 

     From Gulf Coast Lanterns you can order your lantern with the medium base socket and Hurricane frosted chimney and the Weiyan Bulb, this is another effective option and it offers you another choice for those who prefer clear glass in the lantern.  This is also now available in the 12v option.    These different options are available on the Product Detail page for each family of lanterns.   Simply return to the Home page and select the lantern style to view all these options.  

     A new portable version of the Georgetown Lantern, totally portable with rechargeable battery module and bulb, is also now available.  Use it anywhere to enjoy the wam glow and ambiance of the Weiyan Flame with no plumbing or wiring.  Looks great as a table   top lamp or hang it on a wall with a plant hook or on the ceiling with a chain or ceiling hook.  This portable lantern is made to the same exacting standards as the entire Coppersmith product line.   Georgetown Weiyan LED Rechargeable Portable Lantern

     Now Available:  New products, Candelabra Bulbs using this same technology are now available in 6 Packs in the Frosted version or Platimun Lace for use in any electric light fixture with candelabra sockets.  These bulbs are for ambiance only and illuminate about the same as a gas flame. These are not intended to take the place of lighting used for security purposes.  If you want to use these specific bulbs in a light with standard medium base sockets,   you will need to purchase an E-26 to E-12 socket adapter.  These socket adapters are readily available on sites like Amazon or your local DIY store.   E-26 to E-12 Adapter (medium to candelabra)

   The use of dimmers is not recommended.  They have no noticable effect on the brightness of the bulb and they will however damage the LED driver in the bulb and shorten the life.   You will void the warranty on the bulbs by shortening the life with a dimmer.  Even dimmers that say compatible with LED are not recommended.   

     All of the LED Flame Bulbs are designed to be used base down.  The Candelabra Gold Flame bulbs are designed to be seen through clear glass or in fixtures with no glass such as wall interior wall sconces or chandeliers.   The Weiyan medium base bulb is designed to be used in lanterns with frosted or heavily textured glass only.
